This is a VERY special Painting. This painting follows the creation of the City Market Painting. I actually drove to this exact spot and did a quick sketch of the Kauffman Center. I later brought it home and decided I was going to be creative with the colors. Pinks and Lavenders were my colors of choice. It just feels like winter to me, which is when I made the painting. But here is what makes this particular painting so special to me.
Look closely and You’ll see some streaks of blue near the center of the painting. Do you see it? Those two long blue streaks were from my 2 year old son Cloud Davis who saw daddy got up to get his camera and left all the paint out to play with. Cloud took my paint brush, dipped it in blue paint and added his own finishing touches to it. When I came back I was shocked! I was sad. I tried to lift the color off the page but it had already dried. Out of frustration I almost decided to start over and throw this one away because it wasn’t “perfect”.
But after I reflected on it, I decided… lets just go ahead and make prints of it! Because no one is perfect. No art is perfect. This art has a story to tell and most people won’t even notice. This was a colab between me and my son Cloud Davis :) It has sold hundreds of prints as of 2026.
